Explore the ways your talents and time can benefit those with loss.
Why volunteer?
Certainly, financial support is necessary to the success of any charity, but SoulShare is a personal ministry, and it cannot survive without human interaction. Those who volunteer for any charity do so because they have a passion for a cause. They want to make a difference. The value of SoulShare is that you get to see the reward of your effort in real time.
Those who have suffered significant loss are very appreciative of those who invest in them and their children. Within only a few sessions, those with deep sadness experience smiles. Those who give their time an energy are rewarded with new relationships.

College students in related fields should inquire about course credit for volunteer hours.
Ways to get involved
The biggest need we have is for grief group facilitators. You do not have to be a professional or experienced with grief in any way. All you have to do is be willing to be present with people in need. Listening is the primary skill for this role. Volunteers for this service will go through two three hour training sessions.
Facilitators

The little ones are too young for grief groups, but parents still have to plan for their care. Those with a passion for children and may volunteer in this vital part of SoulShare's ministry. We also invite responsible teens to assist Adult caretakers. It is a great way to teach our younger generation to give back.

Meals
This is a great way for groups to get involved. Shared meals are a vital part of the SoulShare program. More than food, a shared dinner creates conversation, builds relationships, and promotes an informal environment which encourages participation during group.

Arts & Crafts
Children often express grief through art. Those with a creative flair are invited to bring their artistic talents to the program. Those with education backgrounds are encouraged to lend their expertise to therapeutic elements of the program, especially "Finishing Touches" our concluding session that centers on a group activity.
organizations and businesses who provide meals defray financial costs and become supporting partners.

Administration
Behind the scenes, small tasks make big differences. Making copies of curriculum, maintaining craft inventory, and other tasks relieve those who operate non-profits like SoulShare. These tasks are ideal for those who want to contribute, but may not have a lot of extra time to donate, or who feel uncomfortable in group-based interactions.
